JAY IRELAND
President, NBC Universal Television Stations and Network Operations



Jay Ireland was named president of NBC Universal Television Stations and Network Operations in December 2006. He has overall executive responsibility for NBC Universal’s television stations, the Telemundo network and its 16 Spanish language television stations, domestic first-run syndication, affiliate relations, and Network Operations. Ireland is a GE officer and reports to Jeff Zucker, chief executive officer of NBC Universal Television Group.

Ireland previously served as president of the NBC Television Stations since November 1999, adding responsibility for the Telemundo Television Stations to his duties in May 2004 following NBC’s acquisition of Universal. Before joining NBC, Ireland had been the CFO of GE Plastics since 1997. After three years as an U.S. Army Officer, Ireland started his career with General Electric in 1980 in the Financial Management Program in Lynchburg, Virginia, and joined the Corporate Audit Staff in 1982. In 1988, he transferred to GE Plastics in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, where he held several financial and product management assignments. He moved to Holland in 1990, where he was managing director of Polymerland-Europe, a plastics distribution company. In March 1993, he returned to Fairfield as manager, Corporate Investor Communications. In May 1995, he was appointed vice president, Corporate Audit Staff.

Ireland is a member of the board of directors of ValueVision Media, the Television Bureau of Advertising, and Maximum Service Television (MSTV). He is also a trustee and treasurer of the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Ireland received his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Lawrence University and currently serves on the Board of Trustees. He and his wife, Valerie, live in New York City and have two children.
