Telemundo launched “El Poder de Saber” (The Power of Knowing) in 2004 as a multi-platform initiative to promote the educational advancement of young Latinos, with a focus on secondary education. The campaign stresses the advantages of staying in school, the value of a high school diploma, encouraging parents to be actively involved in their children's education and other relevant topics. “El Poder de Saber” reaches the community through compelling on-air public service announcements featuring well-known celebrities, events sponsored by our local stations, and a Website (http://www.telemundo.com/elpoderdesaber) that offers information and practical tools to support students and parents. In addition, Telemundo has partnered in this effort with nationally recognized organizations such as the National Council of La Raza and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.
