Executive Vice President and General Manager, Fandango
Rick Butler was appointed by NBCUniversal as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Fandango in 2011, recognizing his 10 years of leadership at the nation’s top moviegoer destination, with over 30 million unique visitors per month, 20 million downloads of its popular mobile apps, and more than 16,000 screens across the country.
As the top executive at the company, Butler runs Fandango’s day-to-day business, as well as serving as its chief strategist and operations manager. His oversight includes Profit and Loss responsibility, Exhibitor Relations, Product and Marketing, Web and Mobile Application Development, e-Commerce, Corporate IT and Partner Networks, Consumer and Studio Support.
Before his appointment as Fandango’s top executive, Rick previously served the company as its Chief Operating Officer, and previous to that promotion, its Vice President of Operations and Chief Information Officer. As one of Fandango’s original executives, he brings over 20 years of leadership in media and internet operations, technology solutions delivery and professional services to its management team. Rick also manages Fandango’s sister property, Movies.com in the same capacity. Movies.com is a content focused web site for everything movies, from pre-theatrical buzz to home entertainment.
Before Fandango, Rick was Senior Vice President of Operations for financialprinter.com, a Web-based financial document services company providing secure on-line document creation and editing, SEC compliant EDGAR filings, and printed and electronic distribution. . He previously served as regional Vice President of Operations for Bowne Business Solutions, an information-management outsourcing provider to legal and financial institutions where he managed a multi-state on-site and corporate document services group. Rick began his career at R.R. Donnelley, where over a 12 year period held several positions in the book and financial publishing and printing groups in Indiana, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco from major account services to operations management.
