Elena Nachmanoff

Vice President, NBC News

Elena Nachmanoff was named Vice President, NBC News, in 1992. Her responsibilities include all aspects of talent recruitment, development, and contract negotiations for NBC News, MSNBC, and CNBC, and she assists talent recruitment for NBC’s owned and operated stations. Nachmanoff also manages most of NBC and MSNBC’s key on-air analysts and contributors. After recruiting a variety of specialists, Nachmanoff oversees their contributions to NBC for all news coverage, especially breaking news events.



Nachmanoff leads a number of diversity initiatives for NBC News and MSNBC. In 1995, she created, and continues to organize, the highly competitive NBC News Associates Program, which recruits and develops aspiring journalists for the production and editorial side of network news. Furthermore, Nachmanoff has led NBC’s presence at the conventions organized by NABJ, NAHJ, AAJA, NLGJA, NAJA, and UNITY since 1990.



Prior to joining NBC in 1990, Nachmanoff was an agent at N.S. Bienstock, a New York based talent agency, for seven years. A native of Great Neck, New York, Nachmanoff graduated from Cornell University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
