Jane Olson
Senior Vice President, Marketing & Brand Strategy, Oxygen Media
Olson led the network's hugely successful relaunch with a reimagined logo, new look and tagline - "Live Out Loud.” The industry took notice of the campaign with numerous recognitions, including four Promax/BDA Design Awards and a Gold Mark Award from the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM).
Olson leads the marketing efforts to support all of Oxygen’s programs, including Oxygen’s newest reality competition “The Glee Project” and the wildly successful “Bad Girls Club.” Her strategic vision also led the success of 2010’s marketing campaign for the hit freshman series “Hair Battle Spectacular,” benefiting from innovative promotional tactics in the field that helped eventize the series and build buzz in a cluttered marketplace. In addition, the marketing efforts for “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood” helped make season five’s premiere episode the most watched among total viewers.
Prior to her appointment, Olson held the position of Vice President, Brand Strategy and Creative Director for Bravo Media where she was closely involved in the re-branding efforts and developing the creative strategy across Bravo media assets. She launched numerous consumer campaigns that defined the Bravo brand to the consumer, contributing to several ratings records including two consecutive best-ever years.
Previously, Olson was the Creative Director of TRIO. There, she was integral in the development of the network's critically acclaimed and award-winning channel redesign. Prior to TRIO, Olson held the position of Creative Director, On-Air Promotion and Branding for American Movie Classics and WE: Women's Entertainment, part of the Rainbow Media Networks of Cablevision. She was responsible for creating the overall look, feel and positioning of both networks and oversaw all on and off air video promotion. Before that, Olson was Senior Writer/Producer for AMC and Romance Classics and first joined AMC Networks in 1992 as Writer/Producer for AMC, Bravo, and the Independent Film Channel. Olson began her career as a writer/producer at KDNL-TV (Fox affiliate) in St. Louis, MO. Over the years, she has won numerous creative awards for her work, including the recently awarded GOLD BDA for the redesign of the Bravo logo.
Olson holds a B.A. degree in Broadcast Journalism/Communications from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, MO.
