Mark Woodbury

President, Universal Creative, Universal Parks & Resorts

Mark Woodbury is President of the design and development group within Universal Parks & Resorts known as Universal Creative.


Reporting to the Chairman/CEO of the division, his team’s primary objective is delivering the industry’s most compelling destination entertainment experiences. During his twenty-three years with Universal, his visionary approach to developing unique and innovative concepts has been instrumental in shaping the Universal brand around the globe.


Mark leads a multi-disciplinary team of professional project managers, designers, artists, engineers, financial analysts, architects and builders, focused on providing content that fuels the continued growth of the division.  This extension of the Universal brand can be experienced in five theme parks, five hotels, and three CityWalks found on both coasts of the United States, Osaka, Japan, and Singapore.


Today Mark and his team continue to set new industry standards through the fusion of creativity and technology. Their award-winning accomplishments include the new highly acclaimed Wizarding World of Harry Potter, King Kong 360 3-D, the award winning theme park Universal’s Islands of Adventure and many of the industries top-rated attractions including; The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, The Simpsons Ride, Shrek 4-D, Revenge of the Mummy and The Incredible Hulk.


Mark has a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Wisconsin and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Mexico.  He is a licensed Architect and member of both the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).
