Deb Finan

Deb Finan serves as Vice President of Production & Programming for MSNBC. Deb reports directly to Phil Griffin in a key leadership role overseeing the network’s operations and all programming.

Finan initially oversaw MSNBC Primetime Programming, covering such stories as the 2004 and 2008 Republican and Democratic National Conventions, election night, Hurricane Katrina, the death of Pope John Paul II, and the death of President Ronald Reagan. She later began overseeing production for the entire MSNBC network, where she played an integral role in the move of MSNBC from Secaucus, New Jersey, to 30 Rock in New York City.

In 1991, Finan joined CNBC as a researcher. She later was appointed to supervising producer for CNBC, where she oversaw a series of programs anchored by Tim Russert, Dick Cavett, Al Roker, Phil Donahue, Cal Thomas and Gerry Spence. In June of 1996, Finan joined MSNBC as a senior producer on “InterNight,” where she worked with Katie Couric, Tom Brokaw, Bob Costas, Bill Moyers and Bryant Gumbel among others. Finan later served as senior producer for “The Big Show with Keith Olbermann.”

In 1999, Finan helped launch MSNBC’s long form unit. During her tenure, MSNBC Long Form received several awards for the unit’s documentary work including two Prism Awards, a Genesis Award and two Telly Awards.

Finan began her career in television as a production assistant at Oliver Productions, Inc., where she worked for Sunday morning talk show host John McLaughlin.

Finan holds a Bachelors Degree from Rutgers College. She resides in Bergen County, New Jersey with her daughter, Sophia.
