Richard Kelley
President and General Manager of NBC 7 San Diego, NBC Owned Television Stations
Richard Kelley is the President and General Manager of NBC 7 / KNSD, the NBC-owned station in San Diego. In this role, Kelley is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of NBC 7 San Diego and its various online and digital platforms.
Kelley joined NBC 7 in 2010 from KNTV, the NBC-owned station in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he was Vice President of Sales. In that role, he focused on creating new business initiatives for the station, resulting in an increase in the station market share and achieving KNTV’s highest market share ever in a non-political, non-Olympic year.
Before working in local television, Kelley was at Monster Worldwide, where he was Senior Director of Acquisition Sales. Previously, he spent nearly 15 years in the local radio industry in San Francisco as Senior Vice President for Regional Operations of AMFM Radio, Inc., where he served as General Manager for several successful FM radio stations in the Bay Area and later added additional responsibility for multiple radio stations throughout California. Kelley also spent two years as the Vice President of Business Development for the Internet start-up CoolCast and also worked as an Account Executive for USA Network in New York.
Kelley earned a BS in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University and attended the National Association of Broadcasters Executive Study Program at Harvard University. He has also completed the Lead San Diego Influence Program.
Kelley is a Board Member of the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, Make-A-Wish San Diego, Lead San Diego and the Advisory Council for Voices for Children. He resides in San Diego with his wife, Kate.
