Cameron Blanchard, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications for NBCUniversal spearheads the development and execution of NBCUniversal’s media relations strategy and serves as a principal corporate media spokesperson for NBCUniversal. Blanchard has direct responsibility for all NBCUniversal corporate communications functions including ad sales, research, cable distribution, legal affairs, diversity, NBC stations and affiliates and internal communications. Additionally, her communications oversight includes NBCUniversal’s impressive portfolio of cable entertainment networks; as well as the Spanish language broadcast network Telemundo.
In her previous role, Blanchard served as head of communications for NBCUniversal’s Entertainment & Digital Networks and Integrated Media division led by Lauren Zalaznick. In this position, Blanchard was responsible for building brand awareness and developing and executing strategic initiatives on behalf of a diverse portfolio including Telemundo Media, Bravo Media, mun2, Oxygen Media, Sprout, Style Media, DailyCandy, Fandango, iVillage, and the company-wide Integrated Media initiatives. From 2006 to 2011, Blanchard oversaw all communications strategies and outreach for Bravo Media, adding Oxygen Media to her purview in 2008 after NBC Universal acquired that cable network.
Prior to that, Blanchard spent two years at NBC as Vice President, NBC Entertainment East Coast Communications where she managed NBC’s New York entertainment press office for all East Coast-based primetime programming, movies and specials, as well as all late-night programming. From 2000-2004, Blanchard served as the Senior Director for the NBC Sports & Olympics division where she handled outreach for the sports properties including the NBA on NBC, the 2000, ’02 and ’04 Olympics, Wimbledon and the French Open. Blanchard joined NBC in June 1996 for the launch of MSNBC. And she began her career in marketing communications for the National Basketball Association.
Blanchard graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and currently resides in Brooklyn Heights with her husband and two sons.
