Cindy Gardner
Senior Vice President and Corporate Affairs, Universal Studios, NBCUniversal
Cindy Gardner was named Senior Vice President, Internal Communications, NBC Universal & Corporate Affairs, Universal Studios in September 2005, after serving as Vice President, Internal Communications since 2004.
Gardner is responsible for Universal Studios’ corporate media relations, issues management, philanthropy and special events, reporting to Ron Meyer and Cory Shields. She also oversees NBC Universal’s internal communications strategy for its 15,000 employees worldwide. Gardner works with other senior members of the communications and human resources teams to support corporate identity, special projects and executive and employee events.
As vice president, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs for Universal Studios she was responsible for the day-to-day management of the department including internal communications, corporate identity and advertising, new media, special events, charitable contributions and specific media relations activity.
Gardner joined Universal in November 1995 as a public relations associate and was promoted to director, corporate communications and special projects in February 1997. Prior to Universal, Gardner served as account manager for Rosen & Company where she managed a diverse roster of public relations accounts. She began her career as a marketing associate and account manager for National Computer Systems in Mesa, AZ.
She has served on the board of the Universal City North Hollywood Chamber and as Treasurer of the Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council representing Universal Studios. She is also a board member of Universal Studios Hollywood’s Discover a Star Foundation.
Gardner graduated from Arizona State University with a B.A. in Business Management.
