Jane Blaney
Executive Vice President, Programming, Acquisitions & Scheduling, USA Network
Since 1994, Blaney has been instrumental in USA Network’s aggressive buying of network windows of blockbuster films and acquisition of off-network series. Some of Blaney’s acquisitions include the hits “Sex and the City,” “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” “The Pirates of the Caribbean” trilogy, “The Bourne Identity” and “The Bourne Ultimatum,” “Enchanted,” and “Casino Royale.” Most recently, Blaney acquired the entire 2009 Universal Pictures slate of over 20 films for USA. Acquired series include HOUSE, LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT, LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT and NCIS.
Blaney’s accomplishments have helped drive USA’s success over the past several years. USA currently boasts the top three acquired dramas in cable among P25-54 and P18-49: NCIS, LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT and HOUSE. On the theatrical front, USA is the #1 destination for acquired films viewers year to date, delivering more P25-54 and P18-49 to primetime theatricals than any other network on cable.
Blaney’s career has spanned over 28 years at USA Network. Prior to her promotion, she was senior vice president, programming, a position she held since October 2000, and before that, vice president, program acquisitions and scheduling since 1994. Blaney joined USA in 1980 when she began her career in the company's advertising sales department.
Blaney resides in Montvale, NJ with her husband Jeff, four dogs and a cat.
