In October 2011, Frances Manfredi was named President of NBCUniversal Cable and New Media Distribution.
In her position, Manfredi oversees NBCUniversal’s product distribution to basic and pay cable, new media platforms and is also responsible for the company’s non-theatrical distribution business.
Over the course of her career, Manfredi has overseen very important deals in both television and film, including: the off-net sale of shows such as 30 Rock, The Office, House, Law & Order, Las Vegas; the sale of Universal Pictures’ 2011 and 2009 slates to USA Network; the strategic partnership between NBCU and American Airlines; the first run sale of Friday Night Lights to DirectTV; a groundbreaking studio deal with Netflix’s VOD platform; and Universal Pictures’ deal with HBO, which will keep Universal’s top box office titles heading to HBO for the next several years.
Manfredi previously served as Executive Vice President & General Sales Manager, Cable & Non-Theatrical Sales, NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution, since 2007. She was promoted to that role after serving as the Senior Vice President, Cable Sales, NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution, for four years. Before the NBC Universal merger in May 2004, she was Senior Vice President, Cable Sales, NBC Enterprises.
Prior to joining NBC Enterprises, Manfredi served as a consultant to NBC Enterprises, as well as other clients including CBS News Productions. Manfredi also served as Vice President of Domestic Cable Sales & Special Markets for CBS from 1998-2000.
Manfredi holds an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University and received her B.S. in economics from NYU. She resides in Westchester, NY with her husband and three young children and is involved in numerous non-profit endeavors.
