Jason Holzman
Senior Vice President, Brand Creative, USA Network
Holzman works closely with McCumber to maintain the overall creative vision for all expressions of USA’S Characters Welcome brand, including on and off-air creative advertising/promotion, network packaging, and interstitial programming. Holzman has been pivotal in the on-going creative strategy for USA’s successful roster of original series, including "Burn Notice, " "In Plain Sight," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," "Monk," Psych," and the recent hit "Royal Pains." He has been instrumental in the creative development and execution of USA’s successful brand extensions, including CHARACTERS UNITE, the CHARACTER APPROVED AWARDS and CHARACTER PROJECT. He also oversees creative for two of NBC Universal’s emerging networks, SLEUTH and UNIVERSAL HD. Holzman is currently working on the launch of USA’s newest original series, "White Collar," scheduled to launch on USA October 23.
Before joining USA, Holzman served as a creative director for Euro RSCG, one of the world’s leading advertising networks, where he created campaigns for clients such as the Ad Council, Evian, ExxonMobil, Intel, New Balance, Oppenheimer Funds, Reckitt Benckiser, and Volvo. Prior to that, he was a senior writer at BBDO where his accounts included Doritos, Mars and Texaco. Holzman started his career at Ammirati & Puris where he wrote for accounts including Aetna, Burger King, Epson, Labatt, MasterCard, RCA, Rolling Rock and UPS. His campaigns have brought him extensive recognition from industry organizations, including The One Show, Communication Arts, The Andy Awards, The London International Advertising Awards, AICP/MOMA, The Cannes International Advertising Festival, The Art Directors Club, The Radio Mercury Awards, The Clio Awards, The Obie Awards, The Webby Awards and Promax / BDA.
Also a filmmaker, Holzman has written and directed two films. He co-wrote/co-directed a documentary film entitled "Words," which was an official selection at the Denver International Film Festival, the Florida Film Festival and the San Francisco Documentary Film Festival, where the film won the Staff Award. He directed/co-wrote a short film entitled “The Method,” which was an official selection at many festivals, including the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, the Method Film Festival, Cinequest and the Avignon/New York Film Festival, where it was the winner for Best American Short Film.
Holzman has also served as an adjunct professor in the Fashion Institute of Technology’s Communication Design Department and holds a B.A. in English and American Literature from Harvard University.
