Joanne O’Brien

Joanne O’Brien is Senior Vice President of Human Resources at CNBC.


Before joining CNBC, O’Brien held various positions at General Electric since joining in 1999.  Most recently she served as Organization, Staffing and Development Manager for GE Money Americas where she was responsible for a wide range of HR activity including talent management, organization effectiveness, staffing, learning and development, MA&D and restructuring. O’Brien also served as a Functional HR Manager with the GE Money Americas team for IT and Legal until 2004.


Prior to that, O’Brien worked in Fairfield, CT in the role of HR Manager for Corporate Legal Operations. She directly supported the corporate teams for legal, tax and EHS in addition to providing functional HR leadership for legal across GE.  O’Brien joined GE in 1999 as a HR Manager for GE Global Exchange Services in the U.K. where she had pan-European responsibility for numerous teams including Sales, Client Services, Finance and IT.


Before joining GE, O’Brien started her career at Accenture in the U.K.


O’Brien graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Durham in the U.K.
