Salil Dalvi

Senior Vice President, Mobile Platform Development, NBCUniversal Digital Distribution

Salil Dalvi, Senior Vice President for Mobile Platform Development, is responsible for overseeing NBCUniversal’s mobile content growth strategy, product development and operations. He also helps lead the company’s overall mobile strategy, helping expand its direct-to-consumer business, build its mobile advertising revenue stream, and identify and develop adjacent mobile businesses.



Most recently under Dalvi’s leadership, his team played a key role in the success of NBCUniversal’s 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the most watched event in the U.S. television history. The NBC Olympics Mobile Web site was the most successful wireless sports event to date for audience reach and usage.



Additionally, Dalvi and his team have overseen the company's mobile growth strategy, including the launch of 24/7 mobile channels NBC2Go, CNBC and MSNBC channels available through MediaFLO. And, has led the development of mobile video offerings and ad-supported mobile websites (WAP) across NBCUniversal’s brands, including Bravo, USA Network, Syfy, NBC Sports, CNBC and MSNBC. He also managed NBCUniversal’s direct-to-consumer and mobile advertising strategy and development, including ad network deals with 4INFO and JumpTap. Working with NBCUniversal’s ad sales and business development teams, Dalvi’s team has been instrumental in developing successful wireless campaigns with distribution and advertising partners, including Sprint, Verizon and AT&T.



Dalvi joined NBC in July 1998 out of business school as a Management Associate in NBC’s network research group. He then moved into the digital media group, where he worked on strategy and business development for the company’s emerging Internet efforts. In 2004, when he was part of NBC’s corporate business development group, Dalvi worked with NBC News to launch the industry’s first made-for-mobile news offering, NBC Mobile. Since then, he has played an integral role in NBCUniversal’s mobile content efforts.



An industry leader, Dalvi was recognized by Multichannel News for their “40 under 40” list in 2009. Additionally, Dalvi was selected for the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA), Korn/Ferry’s 25 Most Influential South Asian Executives list for the best Digital Executive in 2009.



Dalvi holds a Master of Business Administration from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science in political science from Vanderbilt University. He currently lives in South Orange, N.J., with his wife and son, Lori and Luke.
