Nicholas Lehman
President, Digital, NBCUniversal, NBCUniversal
As President of Digital, Nicholas Lehman oversees the digital businesses across the portfolio, including DailyCandy, Fandango, and Television Without Pity. In this role, Lehman is focused on driving growth across the portfolio – leveraging opportunities around content, product development, marketing, sales, research and promotion across mobile, web, and new digital platforms for each business. Lehman is also charged with defining digital research initiatives and innovation plans.
Most recently, Lehman was the Chief Executive Officer of Plum TV, where he led a turnaround of the upscale lifestyle TV network. Lehman revamped Plum’s programming slate, as well as developed and executed a new multiplatform strategy, which included mobile applications and digital distribution partnerships. Prior to that, he served as Chief Operating Officer of IAC Programming, where he managed the day-to-day operations of IAC’s entertainment and media businesses, such as CollegeHumor and Very Short List, and launched multiple new brands including The Daily Beast.
Lehman spent the bulk of his career at MTV Networks, where, over the course of nine years, he helped to build the company’s extensive digital media business. As Executive Vice President, Digital Strategy and Operations, Lehman built and ran MTVN’s centralized digital operations group and oversaw strategic planning, business development, digital distribution, product development and e-commerce. With responsibility for developing new digital ventures, Lehman launched and managed businesses in mobile, gaming, digital music, and social media across all of the MTVN brands.
Lehman also publishes Uncommon Update, an influential industry email newsletter and blog that covers innovation in upscale consumer industries and media.
Lehman holds an Honors A.B. from Brown University and a MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
