Liz Mahaffey
Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning, USA Network
Mahaffey attended New York University, where she earned her B.S. degree in Marketing. She began her career as an analyst in research and planning for TBWA Advertising in New York. From there she went on to MTV, where she eventually became Manager of Programming Research for MTV. During her time there she worked on primary and secondary consumer research projects for the network. Mahaffey then moved on to Comedy Central as Vice President of Programming Research. As head of the department, she oversaw all primary and secondary consumer research initiatives to support scheduling, marketing, original programming and new business development. In 2002, she was named Senior Vice President of Programming Research for USA Network. From there, Mahaffey moved into primary research for NBCU Cable Entertainment and oversaw primary research initiatives for USA Network and SCI FI Channel. In 2004 she was named Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning for both networks, in which capacity she oversees brand strategy and consumer intelligence initiatives.
