OXYGEN MEDIA NAMES HARLEEN KAHLON SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, DIGITAL

NEW YORK – AUGUST 14, 2012 – Oxygen Media appoints Harleen Kahlon to Senior Vice President, Digital, in an announcement made today by the network. In this role, Kahlon will become a member of the senior leadership team and report to Jason Klarman, President, Oxygen Media.

Based in New York, Kahlon will lead the digital team, developing and executing the digital vision for Oxygen Media. Kahlon will be tasked with creating strategic digital launch plans for new and returning series, working closely with Oxygen’s senior team and developing sales strategies to deliver consistent revenue growth across multiple platforms, including Oxygen.com and Oxygen Mobile. She will also continue Oxygen’s leadership in social media building upon the successes of Oxygen Live and Oxygen Connect.

Prior to joining Oxygen, Kahlon was Executive Vice President of Business Development, Marketing and Content Strategy for Bundle Corp., a joint venture between Citi, MSN and Morningstar. She led all customer acquisition efforts for the New York-based company, which uses anonymous, aggregated spending data to rate businesses. Previously, Kahlon was General Manager, Digital for the Observer Media Group, where she had full P&L responsibility of the company’s digital arm, which included the flagship property Observer.com, and the content and e-commerce product VeryShortList.com, as well as The Commercial Observer Online. Credited with launching a redesign of Observer.com, Kahlon also launched new online direct marketing products that increased revenue. Also in the digital arena, Kahlon served as General Manager, Personal Finance for TheStreet.com, where she was responsible for all P&L for the Personal Finance division, which included multiple web properties and direct marketing products. It was here that she developed and deployed a comprehensive cross-platform digital strategy that significantly increased both reach and revenue.

 

Kahlon graduated from the University of California before receiving a law degree from Yale Law School. She began her career as an attorney with a broad-based corporate practice focused primarily on media and entertainment industry transactions. From there, she founded Concept W Publishing, Inc., a social network for professional women. She currently resides in New York City.
