LOS ANGELES – October 15, 2012 – mun2, the leading bicultural cable network has announced the selected participant of its “El Mero Mero Reventonero” guest VJ audition. Francisco Manuel Alvarez of Chicago, Illinois, will join current host Yarel Ramos, starting October 18^th on the mun2 weekly regional Mexican music and lifestyle series, “Reventon”. He will join them as they cover the red carpet for “Reventon” at the Billboard Mexican Music Awards in Los Angeles, for an All Access special that will air on mun2 on November 4.

The auditions, sponsored by Comcast, were held in Chicago on September 29^th. Alvarez, the 24-year old former lead singer of a local Duranguense Band, Adikto, is also a local Chicago DJ and beat out over a dozen finalists to earn the co-host spot. Alvarez is well-versed in the regional Mexican music scene and will bring his dynamic personality and natural flair to the series.

“Reventon” is one of mun2’s most successful original Regional Mexican music and lifestyle shows, and has profiled some of the biggest names in music, including Jenni Rivera, Los Tigres Del Norte, La Banda El Recodo, Pepe Aguilar, Espinoza Paz, and many more.
