NBCUniversal International Television Production is headed by Michael Edelstein, President, with headquarters in London.


The division’s mandate is to identify and collaborate with cutting edge creative talent around the world to produce high-quality scripted and non-scripted drama, comedy, entertainment and factual entertainment programming.


International TV Production has significantly expanded its stable of production companies via acquisition and strategic partnerships and now works with a range of leading and award-winning producers and production companies to develop programming that appeals to a local and global audience.


International TV Production’s in-house production labels include Carnival, creators of the Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning drama sensation Downton Abbey, which has become one of the UK’s biggest TV exports of all time; Monkey Kingdom, which specialises in entertainment programmes and produces the hit UK reality series, Made in Chelsea; Chocolate Media, a factual/entertainment label; and Lucky Giant, which specialises in comedy. International TV Production also operate a joint TV production venture with Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner to produce comedy and drama programming for both UK and US broadcasters.


Outside of the UK, NBCUniversal International acquired an equity stake in Australian-based Matchbox Pictures, producers of critically-acclaimed drama series The Slap and formed a strategic production partnership with LARK Productions in Canada, producers of Real Housewives of Vancouver.


International TV Production also operate NBCUniversal Formats – the international format sales division which represents the international rights to a broad slate of programming, including reality, lifestyle, entertainment and scripted shows produced by NBC, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, Style, Syfy, G4, Carnival, Chocolate, LARK, Lucky Giant, Matchbox, Monkey Kingdom and WTTV.
